Outside the United Kingdom you will not be charged 20% VAT tax but you may be liable to import duties by your country of residence. For UK residents who order a wig from Valentine Wigs, you may be eligible to 20% VAT relief if you have to wear a wig due to a medical condition.
If you are eligible to reclaim your VAT under the HMRC Reference: Notice 701/7(August 2002), you need to either create your account and complete the VAT Relief details or amend an existing account by logging in and then updating the VAT Relief details by clicking on 'Information' on the left hand side and ticking the box, 'Yes, I Declare A Wig For Medical Reasons' and completing the boxes that appear below and then the 'Save' button. This will then allow you to order without paying VAT.
Once you have completed and declared your details all your future orders will be VAT free. You will need to be logged in for the website to recognise you do not pay VAT.
Please be aware that there are penalties for making false declarations. If you are in any doubt as to whether you are eligible to receive goods or services zero-rated for VAT you should consult Notice 701/7 VAT Reliefs For Disabled People or contact the National Advice Service on 0300 123 1073 before signing the declaration.
By signing the form you are verifying that you are eligible to reclaim the VAT as defined in the above Notice. You only have to complete the form once for all your future orders.
If your medical condition clears you must not claim VAT relief and you should inform Valentine Wigs of the situation. Orders should be placed by the person who is eligible to reclaim the VAT relief. If this is not possible then it is permissible for your representative to place the order on your behalf.
